Navy Seals Rifle - After pictures of the seals training in Virginia went viral, people wanted to know about their special rifles. Here's what we found out.
Yesterday we posted some great photos of Navy SEALs and SWCCs in action with Army Night Stalkers off the coast near Dam Neck, Virginia. You can see these pictures here. Before long, our inbox was flooded with inquiries about the SEAL Rifles of SEAL Team Six flying their training missions aboard heavily modified MH-6 Little Birds and MH-60 Blacks. slipped away Hawks. So we did a little research and here's what we found: they really are unique, at least when it comes to US Army and AR-15/M4/M16 rifles.

From photos taken by aviation photographer Raven Harris, we can tell that the rifle's upper is from Noveske, a well-known AR-15 manufacturer based in Grants Pass, Oregon. Noveske has a reputation bordering on legend in the firearms community, and it's no surprise that SEAL Team Six's famous gunsmiths turn to them for some of the team's needs. Between 2007 and 2020, the U.S. Navy awarded Noveske multiple contracts worth a total of nearly $4.9 million, according to records available through the Federal Acquisition Database System. These deals were made through various service agencies, including the Naval Surface Warfare Center of the Crane Division in Indiana, which over the years has produced a variety of specialized small arms for the Naval Special Operations Command.

The 10.5-inch barrel length is common for SEALs, and especially for SEAL Team Six, who participate in counter-terrorism and perform missions in cities, ships, and even underground facilities. Produced the Mk 18, also known as the Close Combat Receiver (CQBR), with a 10.3-inch barrel. Later, other units of the US Special Operations Forces, as well as other units of the Navy and Coast Guard, also adopted this weapon.
The HK 416 used by SEAL Team Six in the raid on Bin Laden, who made the gun famous, used 10.4-inch barrels. Unlike these weapons, which use a piston system for cyclic action, the Noveske device uses the same direct-fire (DI) system as Eugene Stoner's original design and the M16, CAR-15, and M4 that followed. Where things get a little different is the lower receiver. This gun does not have the stock Noveske design, but instead has a traditional forged receiver. They may still be from Noveske, but they're not the typical matching upper and lower receiver kits we've seen on the commercial market. Still, there's no reason why you can't combine diapers and fake diapers. Additionally, SEAL gunsmiths may attach the Noveske upper to their custom, fully integrated lowers, which include a specialized trigger and fire control group.
Regardless, the lower receivers appear to be fitted with ambidextrous bolt aids/triggers and extended/improved trigger clips. The latter is a general feature that makes gloved users more comfortable. The lower end is finished with a Magpul SL-K carbine stock and clear 30-round Lancer Systems magazines, some of which are blue Train-Safe type designed for simunitions and similarly lethal simulated bullets mounted in magnetic wells. - drugs.
A Sandman Dead Air Silencer is attached to the end of the Noveske stainless steel barrel. Forward Top Rail Laser Designator/Illuminator System L3Harris AN/PEQ-15 Advanced Target Designator Illuminator Directional Laser (ATPIAL). On top of the flat top receiver is an Aimpoint Micro T2 red dot scope mounted on a Scalarworks Leap mount. Other operators see with EOTech XPS holographic sights. There are also subtle differences between the rifle group, such as the vertical grips attached to some SEAL weapons and INFORCE WML sights. One even has a different stock, some don't have the improved bolt assist/release system, the main grips look different, including the HK416 and Hogue shapes. These changes may depend on the individual preference of the operator, but in general, the basic weapons of the operators are relatively the same for the SEAL teams seen in the photographs.
So how much does one of these SEAL approved rifles cost? Well, if you buy it at retail, it costs about $5,500.
