Swiss Military Jacket - This Swiss Army M70 jacket was the pinnacle of quality and versatility for its time. Issued from 1957 to 1983, this jacket was designed with massive storage capacity in mind, essentially acting as a weight-bearing system for the jacket! Packed in bags and pouches to minimize the need for complicated packaging and bags. The magazine and grenade pouch sits on the chest, while the larger pouch sits on the waist, perfect for gear and equipment.
The M70 has practical features that make a soldier's life easier. A metal clip on the chest is used to carry the helmet when not in use. The inner pocket contains gun cleaning supplies, saving storage space. Made from a heavy cotton fabric, we estimate it to be around 300g/m². If you are a paintball/airsofter, hunter or similar, you will love this high quality jacket.

Not my favorite jacket, but I like it for day hikes and hunting when I don't feel like backpacking. It is comfortable, the material is strong and breathable. The pockets are big and it really screams for big stuff. I like the short front zipper because you don't have to unzip it when you want to pee or poop. Just go to the bottom button.
I am short and stocky with a bust size 46 but the large fits me perfectly and the arms are very long.
Hoods and veils are useful when hunting, and reinforced arm pads are great for shooting face down in the bushes.

It's a very heavy jacket and not waterproof, but I personally wouldn't worry about it if it saved me from hiking without a backpack.
Overall, I have to say I prefer the DPM 94 smock for comfort, pockets and fit, but there are times when the M70 works wonders. Hunt from an off-road vehicle or quad bike.
I have a lot of jackets, as far as my wife is concerned, but I need them all, and they're all perfect for a certain type of job. I wouldn't go on the M70 with a tractor, it would destroy a lot of things.
But it's a great jacket, and if you're a jacket fanatic, you definitely have one.
Swiss Military Tsh4 Black Polo Tshirt Regular Fit
It has more pockets than I've ever seen. I bought it more out of curiosity, but he got used to it. The weight of this jacket is significant and the pockets are reinforced with fabric lining. This should be very high quality manufacturing. It would make a great winter jacket with a decent body vest underneath.
I prefer the old DPM shirt pocket layout and the material is more comfortable than the alpenflage, but this jacket has hardly been worn and the material is still a bit stiff. I love the long sleeves and the style.
Swiss quality at its most practical - you can see how much thought and effort went into designing this jacket. Super soft (like chamois), comfortable cotton that is warm enough and windproof. The number of pockets makes it very versatile - I usually use it as an autumn/winter/spring fishing jacket or photography jacket, meaning all my fishing gear and accessories can fit in the pouch, DSLR change, several lenses, filters, spares. batteries... If you manage to get hold of the backpack (which I did), you can put your food/drinks in it, as well as a rain jacket or small umbrella or small-medium camera tripod. My coat looked faded (compared to new), still pretty clean. There are some visible improvements (if you look closely), but there's still a built-in face veil inside the (rather large) hood. I'm not petite, but I've found that my 112cm bust (€56 size) still gives me plenty of room for layering (the Alpenflage M83 shirt works well, as does the fleece). I agree that the sleeves are shorter than expected, but they fit me perfectly in this size. Being cotton, this jacket is quite heavy even when empty. The next step for me is to try dehydrating with Nikwax or similar.
As for camouflage performance - watch the video on YouTube, it is excellent in undemanding and leafy tree environments, especially if there are fallen leaves. I have been fishing around Bright/Mount Beauty/Tawonga in North East Victoria and this pattern blends in really well.

Given the low cost, I'm afraid it's going to be a bit of a dud. Good thing I was wrong! It fits well and provides absolute rain protection. Much more practical than a poncho. I really like the longer length - great for lounging around or wearing shorts in the rain. Can't beat the price. It will live in my pack for years to come.
